Rudolf Chmel calls on parties not to abuse the Roma
In his declaration Rudolf Chmel states that during election campaigns not only the nationalist but also some other parties, who claim to be democratic and liberal, have already preyed upon the misery of the Roma minority.
He thinks that at present there is an increased need for warning, since the economic downturn provides an especially good environment for the adoption of radical solutions by people.
In Chmel’s view the desperate situation the Roma are in is the failure of us all. "There is a kind of erroneous view in the society that we have already made enough efforts and invested enough money into the solution of the Roma issue, and that without any result. We all know that the Roma issue has already been abused many times by the Gadji (non-Roma people) to get rich," said Rudolf Chmel.
